WWW

This wasn't the best workout week, by far.  But sometime life just has other plans for you!

Mon, July 22ndWe were all ready to take Molly for a walk after dinner, but that's when we figured out the A/C wasn’t working and made a mad dash to Home Depot for a circuit breaker.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t the breaker….it was the compressor and wasn't in stock, so earliest fix date is Friday!
Tue, July 23rd2.09 mile walk with Molly in the morning and some arm weights.
Wed, July 24thIt was an early start to the day and a long day at work.  I came home and crashed.
Thurs, July 25th2.22 mile walk with Molly in the evening and some arm weights!  Still living without A/C, but the compressor will be replaced on Friday!
Fri, July 26th1.85mile walk with Molly in the evening.  I love coming home to A/C!
Sat, July 27thI had a really really rough Fri-Saturday night!  Was hit with food poisoning and couldn’t keep anything inside of me.  It started innocently around 1am and then got real bad around 3am.  I ended up calling the on-call OB and she prescribed me Ondansetron ODT 4mg – which is used for chemo patients with nausea and vomiting.  Fun!  Thank-goodness for 24-hr CVS!  The drugs do make you drowsy and very sleepy.  With my lack of sleep that night, I spent most of Saturday sleeping with some awake time to drink water-downed Gatorade, ginger ale, or water.  By around 8:30pm, I started to feel like a human and took an Epson salt bath before calling it a night.  Sorry baby for being so sick!
Sun, July 28thI slept through the night! Still feeling weak from the lack of food, so no walking Molly today.  Just going to take it easy and do some stuff around the house.

Hope you had a much better weekend than me!

Keeping It Real!

We have been air conditioner free since Monday!  Keeping it real with the windows up and ceiling fans on high!

Are you jealous??

We have been having lots of thunderstorms that cause the power to flicker or go out for a few minutes.  The latest storm on Monday killed the A/C compressor.  We did think it might just be a bad circuit braker, so the EE is both of us, ran to Home Depot and replaced the braker.  No dice.
Tuesday, G's dad came over and took care of getting quotes and service people out to the house.  Fixing it that day = $800, fixing it on Wednesday = $300.  Monday night we slept with the windows open, ceiling fan on, and box fan in the window pushing air.  It wasn't a big deal.  So saving $500 was just fine with me.
Well as the story goes, the part wasn't in stock for Wednesday and then Thursday the delivery people wouldn't over night an oil compressor.  Keeping my fingers crossed for getting A/C back on Friday.

Wish us luck on Keeping It Real - Night 4!

PS - It was brought up on FB that at 30+ weeks pregnant, I should be miserable and staying at a hotel.  My parents house didn't and still doesn't have central A/C.  Within the last 5 years, they bought a few window A/C units - I guess menopause necessitates A/C.  Anyway.... not having A/C isn't a big deal for me.  So this Keeping It Real thing isn't too bad.  I do need circulating air.  I can't stand a stuffy-house. But if the A/C isn't fixed on Friday, I might be a little more interested in relocating somewhere else during the day.

PPS. - We are now considering getting a whole house panel protector to prevent any more expensive appliances from going out.  Do have something like this?  Any other recommendations?

YOLO (feat. Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar)

I must have been living under a rock and missed this somehow.  Thanks to YHL for keeping me current.

I also love the cameo by G's cousin - Danny McBride!

Yes, we do know that guy and even meet all the Lonely Island guys at Danny's wedding.  I was such a goober in front of Andy Samberg.  Fun times!

Do you have any famous relatives?
It still makes me laugh when I see Danny on TV.
Enjoy!

more knitting

I made another blanket....

It is for a surprise baby due in August.  The colorway is called pacific and I thought is would be beautiful for a boy or girl.

Again, I found the pattern on Raverly and then adjusted it.  Cast on 107 stitches and ended up with final dimensions of 24" x 39."

Enjoy!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy our nation's independence!

I am a little sad to not be participating in the largest 10k, but at 29weeks preggo, running/walking 6.2miles in the July morning heat didn't sound like a great idea.  Oh well!

Hope to run a ~49min in 2014 like I did in 2011!

I am wearing the teal tank top and white shorts!

Happy 4th of July!!

New chair!

Did I tell you that the office is actually going to be the nursery??
Office - September 2012
That was my plan when I repainted the room back in September 2012.  I thought a grey/teal-turquoise/white color palate would be wonderful for a baby and for an office in the mean-time.
I have been working off this color palate idea from pinterest -

The dresser I stained is going in the office/nursery and will be used as the changing table also.  Besides a crib the other thing we wanted to get was a rocker/glider chair.  I knew I wanted something more "furniture-like" as compared to "baby-only."  I have yet to set foot in Babies R Us and hope to keep it that way!!

I liked this chair and ottoman from Target (in either Halo anchor or Hlo string),

but worried about the height of the chair only being 38".  G is tall ~6'2" and he wanted a chair tall enough to rest his head.  As he called it, "No airplane chairs!"

My mom suggested La-Z-Boy, so we checked it out this past weekend.  I had pinned the Harbor Town recliner

and Lyndon recliner

previous so we started there.  I really liked the look of the Lyndon recliner because of the tufted back that could be cousins to the reupholstered chair we are keeping in the room, but it was deemed an "airplane chair!"

The Harbor Town was nice, but we weren't in love with it.
We ended up with the Lancer recliner in a fine whale corduroy fabric in light grey - called cobblestone.

It should be ready in ~45days, so room pics will have to wait.  Everything is coming together nicely!
Enjoy!

Some pictures of Gussy

Gussy likes to go outside and eat grass and then proceeds to throw-up.  I have been meaning to grow some cat grass for her, but just have been too lazy.
I thought I would share some "Cat in the Wild" pictures with you...

In the cookie tossing position!

Love this kitty!!
