Happy Thanksgiving!

Source
We are starting the day with a 5k Turkey trot (walking with my Mom!) and then tasty food with our extended family (want to know a secret - I'm 30+ years old and haven't ever ever cook a full bird!  I would like to continue with that streak!)
I am thankful for many things this year including my health, G being home when he can, G's company success, family, and friends.

I hope you have a wonderful thankful day!

Hobbies

This past year I've taken up knitting
Blanket for G's famous cousin's son!

Cuddle cloths for my besties babies!

Socks - 1st knitting in the round.

and G has started to collect bourbon....

We bought a cabinet from Nadeau - a sort of local/national furniture store that I love!  My night stand is from Nadeau and they sell matching TV stands and china cabinets.  I want them all!!
Yes that is alot!

Moving the booze to the cabinet freed up kitchen cabinet space and I can now display some of our lovely Waterford crystal glasses.  Win-win.
Pardon my workout clothes - Bootcamp in the morning.

I am just not sure about all the rest of a furniture in the dining/living room...
We usually put the Christmas tree in that room, so I am not going to worry too much about how everything looks right now!

What hobbies have you taken up this year?
Enjoy!

Another quick art project update

Remember when I painted a bunch of wooden things back in August?

I painted that bird house planning on doing something else with it.  But then it sat and sat and I finally decided to do something else with it.  I tried drawing the owl and tree and some flowers on it and it was awful!  So I decide to keep it like it is and paint it's brother in an opposite manner.  Grey roof, teal walls.

I think they look cute and great outside.

Now I need to get some bird seed to out inside to attract a bird family.

That was an easy project that took ~6months from purchase to done!  Busy life!

Enjoy!

Latest art project

I saw this on idea on pinterest - framing foreign coins to remind you of your trip.  Love it!
I thought this would be prefect for our hallway art using Canadian coins.
I wanted to submit it to the Fall edition of the Pinterest Challenge dreamed up by Katie and Sherry, but my coins were still in Canada with G!  Oh well!  Maybe next time.

After sorting through G's coins, I found the best coins with lots of fun backsides and significant dates.  Our hallway art is all in black frames and most are from Ikea.  I ended up getting a frame from Target with a 4x6 opening to add some frame variety!

I placed the coins on brown craft paper and glued them with gorilla glue.  I let them dry for a few days...

Layout

Drying

Julia Child makes a great weight!
Done!
Now some pics of the gallery hallway!  It is a work in progress, but I like it!  On the left side - wedding collage, etsy "plants cats can eat" print, our wedding invitation, etsy state print, Notre Dame print we got in Paris.  On the right side - Sagrada Familia print from Barcelona, another etsy state print, and the Canadian coins.
Looking toward the kitchen from the furthest point.  Living room on the left, hall closet and guest bedroom on the right.
Closer view

Looking from the opposite direction.  At the end of the hallway is a picture of a bamboo forest we got in Maui on our honeymoon.
 Enjoy!

Fri, Nov 9thMore morning walking with molly – 2.03miles and Bikram yoga at night.  I wasn’t a fan of the 6:30pm teacher, so I might avoid her…

Sat, Nov 10th2nd run this week!  2.51miles in 24:49 and then a 2mile walk with Molly.  My legs were dead tired from Thursday’s bootcamp.  I thought yoga would help, but it didn’t really.

Mile 2 – 10:06 (took a few walking breaks)
0.51miles @9:49

Sun, Nov 11thBikram yoga in the morning, lots of chores around the house!  Office is mostly put back together, and 2mile walk with Molly in my new running shoes!  They are awesome – saucony hurricane 14.  Love!
I've been a Brook's running shoe girl for the last 3years, but with the Morton's neuroma, I thought it was time to get my feet fitted at the running store.  The wonderful sales girls had me try these on and it was love.  Truly feels like I am walking on air.  So soft.  I am planning on running in them on Tuesday.

What are your favorite running shoes?  Favorite workout?  Do you avoid specific workout guides/coaches?
Enjoy!

Master bedroom update...

As you know, decorating a room is a constant project with small updates here and there.  I mentioned here that we bought a few rugs!  It took a little while to get the master rug installed because it was a 2 man job and G was in Calgary.  Have I mentioned him pretty much living there this year?  The project he is working on is supposed to be finished this month.... I am not holding my breath.  He has a corporate apartment and on the most recent trip, his snowboard accompanied him... I'll believe his main involvement will be over when he moves out of his apartment!

Anyway back to the room update!
The rug is installed, the initials are painted and up, and I moved the Paris light switch cover to the office and sort of replaced it with a card from the Calgary Stampede.

Do you see Arti?  She loves to watch bird up there.

I really like it and have enjoyed making this room ours!

I would say that the room is ~80% done.
We want to put up crown molding, paint the ceiling, get new closet doors (we started looking at doors, so this might happen 1st), and get artwork for the spot next to the initials and along the closet wall where this is a gap between the door and closet.  Slow and steady!

Enjoy!

Office update!!

So it has been a few weeks since I finished painting the bookshelf (minus the touch-ups), but then life got busy and I didn't finish the touch-ups until this past weekend!
During that time, I did have to store some stuff in the bookshelf and when I took the stuff out, the white paint got scratched up.  Boo ;(
We live in a very humid area and the paint was still tacky when I put stuff in it.  Not going to repeat that!
I have moved our dehumidifier into the room and am going to run it all week to make sure the bookshelf is fully dry!

In the mean time some pictures....

And some ok photoshopped pics with the "dream" rug!

What do you think?
Should I pull the trigger and order it?
I do really like how this is all coming together!

Mon, Oct 29th1.75mile walk with Molly!
Tues, Oct 30th2.4mile walk with Molly!
Wed, Oct 31st – Happy Halloween!
Thurs, Nov 1st Thought about running….but decided to do a long walk with Molly – 3miles!  I also need to get back into doing abs and arms regularly.  I did 200 abs and push-up/plank combo –
15sec plank
5 push-ups
30sec plank
5 push-ups
45sec plank
5 push-ups
1min plank
5 push-ups
45sec plank
5 push-ups
30sec plank
5 push-ups
15sec plank
It was hard and my arms were sore on Friday!

Fri, Nov 2ndI did do a run walk combo with Molly – 0.25miles walk, 1mile run in 9:32, 1mile walk!  Molly isn’t the best walker and running isn’t that much fun with her.  I think it is time to go alone!

Sat, Nov 3rd Bikram yoga!  I really like this practice!

Sun, Nov 4th I ran 2 miles alone! The first mile was in 9:05 and the second was in 9:22.  That second mile was hard and I was tired.  I guess getting back into running shape is going to be a little harder than I thought!  After the run I got Molly and we walked another 2.1miles and then I did 200abs and the push-up/plank combo.  No more flabby!

Hope your week went well!

Halloween fun with the niece and nephews!
6year old Cat-arina!
9year old Scream!
11year old to cool for Halloween!

I sort of started running - 2 miles total!
Lacking in motivation....
My plan is to start 1/2 marathon training Dec1st, so November will focus on getting a good base, probably 6miles for my long run.

November plan - 2 runs a week, plus boot camp twice a week, and bikram yoga at least once a week!

Our walking mileage is up! 36.78miles!!

Yearly totals -
Running = 338.52 miles
Walking = 198.24 miles

Enjoy!
